Short version: gear that looks good in photos and falls apart in a week isn't worth the box it ships in.
About Us
Hounddale got started over a broken harness clip. We'd ordered one online that had good photos and decent reviews, and it snapped within the first week of regular walks. That wasn't a one-off — we'd gone through a stretch of chew toys that didn't survive an afternoon and a leash with stitching that came undone before the tags were even off.
At some point we stopped buying whatever showed up first in a search and started actually looking into things before deciding whether to sell them. A product gets checked for wear and durability — stitching, materials, hardware, how it holds up over weeks of normal use — before it earns a spot in the shop.
We're not trying to be the biggest pet store online. We'd rather sell twelve things we'd stand behind than two hundred things we're not sure about. If we're not confident in something, it doesn't go up for sale.
Orders over $59 ship free, and everything comes with a 30-day return window — if something doesn't work out, tell us and we'll sort it out. Questions go to a real inbox, and someone actually reads them.

How something ends up in the shop
Before anything gets listed, we look at how it's actually made — stitching, materials, hardware — and whether it's built to last past the first few uses. We check things like whether a clip is easy to use one-handed, or whether a fabric will hold up to regular washing. If it doesn't hold up, we send it back and move on to the next one.
